Liz Borda was born and raised in New York. She graduated from Hunter College with a double major in Media Studies and Art Studio. She studied photojournalism in graduate school. Currently, she is a freelance photographer and is based in New York. 

She has received awards from the Ippies awards for work in The Indypendent, Ohio University's Student Expo for Visual Arts and was selected to participate in the Focus on Monferrato Project in Italy.

Her work has been published in Narratively, NYC Art Parasites, Latina Magazine, The Indypendent, NYU School of Law Magazine, Gawker, Valleywag, Jalopnik, Times Ledger Newspapers, Queens Chronicle, Manhattan Times and Travel Agent Magazine.

Liz has worked with non-profit, humanitarian organizations and institutions such as Brooklyn Boatworks, Girl Scouts of Greater New York, American Red Cross in Greater New York, Polytechnic Institute of New York, Project HAPPY (Hunter Activity Program for Parents and Youth) and Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter.
